Default Whistle in driver door/mirror

I have put 22k on my RAM. Since day one when I get up to 70+ I hear a loud whistle from the mirror or door. I have actually turned my head to see if someone next to me is blowing the horn. Has anyone else had this issue? The dealer said that they have heard of the problem but offered no fix. I am getting ready for a 10 hour highway drive and I would like to do something about it before hand. I cant be the only one.

I bought mine used from the owner and he told me in advance about a whistle in the driver side window and told me a way to fix it is to back away with a quick flick of the window button. with a little practice I was able to get the hang of it and put it in the position where it didn't whistle and was air tight. Hope this helps.

Sounds like you have a door seal that is folded over. Inspect the seal.

I have the same issue with my 2011 1500. I compared the seal of the driver and passenger doors on my truck as well as a buddy's. The drivers side is definitely not as tight. I'm going to stop at a collision repair shop and see if the door can be adjusted. I'll fill you in on the results when I find out.

Door seal would be my best guess. Definitely not the window seal. Not really a whistle. This sounds like a horn. Anyone is familiar with reeds in duck calls or musical instruments? Sounds to me like there is air going around a seal, at speed it acts like a reed. I am going to try and tape down one side of the door seal. If the note changes or stops Ill no where to start.

There is a bulletin out about the noise. Involves putting a foam block into the weatherstrip. Bulletin came out in July.

+1 Holleywud beat me to it. Had this done to my Ram, worked like a charm.

Pretty sad that I know about the bulletin, but I'm too damn lazy to get it done to mine. Hate to take it in for b.s. stuff. I know I hate it when I get stuff like that in my bay. Guess I'll wait until I get 3 or 4 things to be handled and then take it in.

You don't need a copy. Tell them to go on dealerconnect.com and search 'noise' for your truck. It comes right up. That's what I did to find it.
