Default Programmer help

I hope there's someone out there who can help with this. I just bought a new hypertech power programmer for my 99 ram 5.9, I'm trying to figure what I should change with it to get the best hp and mpg I've already changed it for my oversize tires. Also I know I can change what octane gas I'm using but with where I live we use 85 because of the altitude we are at but the programmer dosent have 85 as a choice. Any help would be great

You can select a higher octane setting but then that means you have to also use that octane (or higher) fuel.

You can get in touch with Hypertech to see if they have an 85 octane tune or if you can pull some timing with their tool.

I'm thinking an 89 tune with 89 or better octane won't be a big deal to switch to.

I'm not all that familiar with the tool but:

1. Do you have taller tires on the truck than stock? I'd tweak for that.

2. Do you have an option for setting or removing a speed limiter?

3. Do you have an option for gear ratios?

4. Do you have an option for shift firmness?

I'd do all those next if they are available to you.

I'll have to lOok at the turner for the others you mentioned but I did already put in the tuner that I have oversize tires since I have 33's on it. I guess it doesn't help either that I have a 1,000lbs bumper
