I tried prying out two and broke them both. Do the new grills come with new pins? i'm assuming i would be reusing them..right? I'm planning on buying the black honeycomb to replace the chrome but i dont want to remove the current one until i can figure out if i'll need to do it and try to keep the clips in tack. can new pins be bought anywhere? if so that'll make things allot easier.
You're doing the exact same thing as me man! I bought the parts to replace my grille months ago. I just havent had much time to replace it but when I tried my bolts were rusted so I couldnt even take it off to get the inserts out.
I got the interts out from the grille I bought to replace though and that took about 5 min using a really small screw driver. Just push the middle part of the pin all the way in and then the whole pin should just pop off. Once youve done that to all the pins the inserts should come right out.
If your trying to remove them with the grille still on the truck (which I tried) there are a few of the pins that you cant reach.
Other than that it should be pretty easy! Good luck!
