When you guys put in your EVIC cluster what did you do about the mileage?
Is it stored in the cluster or the ECU?

Where did you get the cluster from Dealer or a salvage yard?

Mine was salvage with mileage very close to mine. I installed when they were the same.

I found two from salvage yards. Both were from 2011 trucks. One had less miles than my truck and the other more. I am using the one with less miles until my mileage catches up to the other. I have @3500 miles to go.

It seems like alot of extra work but I did not want to wait and I figured I could sell the other one when done and they are so easy to swap.

I was surprised when I found that the truck and the cluster held their own mileage seperately.

I'm just worried that the warranty would get cancelled by doing a speedo swap because of the mileage difference. I would really like having the EVIC and the 2 extra gauges though.

That is why I am making sure the mileage is exact when I swap. If they check the mileage will be the same.

The extra guages are nice and having the EVIC is even better. The extra functions that can be used are great.

What is the mileage? When you swap it back out, I might be interested if I figure out the cluster is the problem. I haven't had a chance to swap my old one back in to try it yet.

I will be swapping the cluster when it reads @ 14500 miles. I do not remember the exact number, I have it written down in the truck. I am not sure how long it will take me to get there since I do not drive the truck daily.

Wow, a well of information here. I plan on adding an overhead to my 2500 as well, and a few other goodies. Are you guys getting all these "sales codes" at the dealer? My dealer left a bit to be desired, and probably need to find another before asking for stuff like that

Yes, the dealership I bought the truck from added the sales codes. They have been pretty helpful, but it was hit and miss on finding the right service person to talk to. The first few didn't seem to have any idea what I was talking about.

got my console installed in my 12 express yesterday. Install went great, just made my own harness and connected into the rear overhead light wiring for the rear light. You do have to run a constant power to the map lights, so they will turn on and off without the key or inside lamp being lit. I just ran a power and ground to the homelink and it works, but I left the lin bus wiring disconnected, until I can figure out where the wiring goes. In my 12 I dont have a white/green striped wire in the green plug on the side of the dash. My wires are twisted and white/orange. There are two sets of them in the green plug that are not being used. I was told the lin bus wire controls the lighting of the homelink switch and makes it dim when you turn on the lighting. If anyone has knowledge of how to connect this lin bus wiring and can research where it goes that would be great. Apstram has helped alot with the install, and has been great at answering questions, but there is not a lot of info on the 12's. I did find out when you install the evic, you still lose the horn and power to the steering wheel switches, so it has to be re-wired like the 11's. I will let everyone know about adding the radio switch sales code to control the evic once I get it done, since you can already control the cluster from the wheel of the 12 trucks. I dont think I will need it though....
