I got it installed tonight. The headliner is easy to cut but nerve racking.
The headliner is a multi-layer of fiber board insulation and cardboard so you really need to go over your cuts mutliple times to cut all the layers.

Be sure to use a new razor blade and be careful of that front cut, it's very easy to cut too much. I noticed on the factory cutout there isn't much headliner between the leading edge of the hole and the leading edge of the console.

It sure looks good though and I mounted my garage door opener where the cutout for the homelink is located. I'll do this until I can find a compass/ homelink module for a reasonable price.

I too want to do this mod. Any info on a place(s) to get the parts for the overhead console and wiring would be awesome!

Thanks.

A local salvage yard would be best since most consoles found on Ebay do not come with the wire harness and mounting bracket.

A bit off topic, for those that have cb radios
I already had the console, but i needed to install an External Speaker for my CB Radio, i am dependant on hearing the truck drivers that i have to escort.
I bought a external speaker, it is in mounted in a box when you buy it, i took the speaker & wires out of the box. Then the overhead console was removed, the sloped part of the console closest to the rear window, is the perfect place to mount the speaker, just trim the housing itself, don't touch the cloth part of the liner itself. The speaker is hidden inside the console.
When you put the console in, with all the other goodies, like lights, compass, & switches, it will look like this as i said, you wouldn't know that there is a speaker mounted in there
