Default Power Window - Issue

My power windows work well normally. BUT, i have noticed one specific problem that i have tested several times now.

When i roll up the windows with the automatic feature, IF i hit a bump (speed bump, pulling into a driveway, etc) the window immediately start rolling back down. The windows are on being rolled up, hit the bump, then they start rolling back down.

Has anyone else noticed this? is there a recall?

mine does the same thing. I assume it is a safety feature due to hitting a bump.

The window regulator thinks there is a obstacle when rolling the window up, i guess its confusing the bump for an obstacle, seems pretty sensitive, I have never noticed my truck do this, however I hardly ever have my windows open, especially this time of year.

I've seen this on my truck too. Doesn't bother me much though. Rough's idea makes sense.

Makes sense, being a safety feature.

Especially since it doesnt take very much force at all to snap a child's arm.

My system does it to my windows and i took it to the dealer to show them to see fi I could turn it off and they said "HELL NO MORON!".

The sensor looks for anything other than smooth operation from the window and any disturbance it assumes is a childs head and rolls it back down. If your on a bumpy road just dont use the automatic feature

I've actually never noticed this particular issue however it does make sense that the safety feature is kicking in.

Okay, I just got mine back yesterday from the dealer for this exact issue. My drivers side only will cancel the express up and go back down when it is raining. The slight extra resistance from the wet window track was enough for the safety system to kick in. Didn't happen on the passenger side.

Each window circuit is of course individually computer controlled..... Dealer re-flashed the driver door module and adjusted the sensitivity. It wasn't raining when I picked it up so the verdict is still out. But I would say that it is something that can be adjusted if it's too sensitive.
