Default lift in 7' garage?

Just bought a 2011 ram sport 4x4. I would like to put a 4' BDS lift and 35's on it. But i don't know if it will fit in my garage (7' gargage)? Does anybody else have this situation/problem? i did the math and it will be pushing it. But i would like to know if anyone else has run into this before i drop 5k and then my truck not fit in the garage.

If that won't work, if i level the truck can i fit 35's without problems?

Thanks in advance

If it's only the garage door that will be in the way, what we did at our house was disconnect the garage door from the motor (with that little pull chain thing) and prop a 2x4 under the door to push it up ALL the way, it gives a few more inches of clearance. Then we could pull the truck in and out like that. JUST DON'T FORGET TO DO IT lol. We cut a piece of 2x4 to the proper length and left it leaning against the wall by the door, it wasn't much of a hassle to do to get the truck in and out, only took a minute.

Good idea! The problem is the frame is 7' tall. So my truck would have to be under 7' tall to fit.

Does anybody have a 4" kit with 35's? How tall is your truck from ground to its highest point?

Thanks,

If it is your own place
you can make a bigger door opening
If it is a rental, check with the landlord first

Sorry can't comment on an actual ram truck, just wanted to give you the idea if it'd help. My other truck is a 1981 F100 with F150 HD springs. It sat pretty high for a "stock" suspension and we had large tires on it. The 0.5" to 1" raised concrete floor "step" up as you entered the garage was enough to make it hit the door, so we would prop the door up then it was fine.

spec sheet for your truck
http://autos.yahoo.com/dodge-truck/r...fications.html

this is from another website, looks more reasonable, but it doesn't give the tire size, 17" or 20"
http://autos.aol.com/cars-Dodge-Ram+..._in._WB/specs/

I think the first one is incorrect, because my stock 2009 QC 1500 2X4 on 20" tires that are 31 1/2 inches tall is:
76" high or 6' 4" at cab height

I believe 4 X 4s are higher, though i don't know for sure

^ yeah there's no way that's right, I'm 6'4" and my truck is at least as tall as me, if not taller than me. And also mine is lowered in the rear about an inch. 6'2" for a 4x4 seems much too short. I'd say it should be more like 6'4" to 6'6", heck maybe as tall as 6'8". I also know my brother's 3rd gen 4x4 big horn hit his roof on a parking garage "bumper" (which was cast iron pipe...who the F designed that). His is stock height, and I think if I remember correctly it was a 6'8" bumper.

i have a stock 4x4 and drive it in a city garage with a stated clearance of 6'7". it is a close enough call though, and would think pure lift should be based on a height off of 6'6" to be safe.

Guys 7 feet = 84 inches go down from there. My `11 4x4 QC is 78 inches at the rear of the roof My garage door frame is 80 inches tall,it's tight but it fits with 2 inches to spare. Someone needs a ruler for this mod.

I understand 7' is 84 inches. Specs show the 1500 4x4 Crew Cab to be 76.3" tall. I also understand that it will actally be about < 82" to make it into the garage. So by this math adding a 4" lift with 35's would add about 5.5" to the truck. This would make my truck 81.8" tall. So by this math it says it would fit.

My main question is, "Does anybody have this situation?" I just figured with all the people on this forum someone would have or at least thought about a 4" lift with 35's in a 7' garage.

Thanks,
