Can you post links/brands you're looking at. Some are great, some are good, and some are terrible. The price often fits the quality. OBX is a brand that I have found to be very good quality that is very inexpensive.

Borla is a very reputable company, but I can't speak for their headers. Pacesetter has a bad name on some other vehicles that I've seen them on, but again can't say for their dodge ram headers. Never heard of the last company. Other good companies are gibson, american racing headers...

You may want to take a look at tti. They offer headers by themselves or complete exhaust systems for the ram. And they are long tubes not the shorties.

Thread is almost a week old but thought I would put in my 2 cents.

The first and most important question before you buy anything is do you have to worry about emissions testing and inspection. There are only a few brands that are 50 state legal. If you do not have to worry about them you then need to figure out if you want to run long, short or mid headers.
You can get something like the BBK or Gibsons that will bolt on in place of the factory manifolds. The next step would be mids which require the exhaust to be cut before the cats and new short pipes welded in to connect the headers to the factory cats.
Then you have long tubes would replace the manifolds and the cats. Some long tube kits come with cats other do not.

If you do go with either shorties or mids you will want to replace the factory Y pipe after the cats. If you look at the stock one the pipes are smashed together and do not flow well at all.

Lots of options to think about before you even worry about brand.

Depending on how your state inspection works you might still be able to run long tubes. Do they just require you to have cats or what do they look for? It might be worth your time to go to an inspection station and talk to someone that actually does the testing to see what you can do.

Just doing the Y pipe and a muffler without replacing anything else will make a noticable difference.
Y pipe $20
Muffler is $75-$100 maybe more depending on what you get

Shouldn't cost that much to have both installed.
