Question Air Bag Lift Kit

I had a post over a year ago concerning my trailer and needing air bags, at that time no one was making an after market air bag system just air "Helpers"
that fit inside coil springs. I ve been told they now make them. Has anyone installed one on a 2009 Ram 1500 Quad Cab? Brand? Did it help?
Link to it?

Thanks

You will find everything you need to know about the helper bags here AirLift 1000

There have been many members that have installed them, and they love them, Personally I do not have them installed however this is just because we do not currently tow with our 4th gen truck, however whenever we start towing you can count on us using them, they are a life saver especially on level'd/lowered trucks

Thanks
Jeremiah

I have the Airlifts in my 2012 1500, they were super easy to install. I didn't even take tires off, just let the axle droop enough to squeeze them in between the coils, then run airlines to where ever you want to fill at. They do work and make a difference in the drivability under load. I have towed a small travel trailer and my bike in the bed (800lbs) and it definitely was a great advantage to have them.

Another option is the Total Load Control system. The difference is the TLC bags go between the axle and the frame instead of inside the coils. They are a vendor on this site so check them out as well and decide which system better suits your needs.

I say you don't need any of those. You should go with the tuftruck rear springs. They will increas the load capability of your truck.

I have the 50% increas on my truck and find that they work amazing. I also had the fox on my truck before that but like the springs a lot better.

I have air bags from Rock Auto on my truck and they work great. Easy to install and the kit comes with dual stem or single stem install, in that you can adjust each one or have them both plumbed together. I haul a 31ft tagalong camper with weight distribution bars and with the combination of the two I have no problem hauling it. Having said that I was told by "them that know" in the chat room that I just have to change my rear end cuz my ratio isn't conducive to the load, even though it is listed as "half ton towable" and gvw of just over 6700 lbs. I was told in this chat room that I was "making things up" and there fore I will not enter that room again to try to gain a bit of information. I know I am getting older but will not tolerate being insulted in this way again. What I am getting at is this: the air bags work great for me and for around $100 they are a good investment. BTW, I was a ASE certified Master Mechanic for several years.

As an added bonus if you keep 10-15lbs in them all of the time it improves cornering as well with only a slightly stiffer ride. I love them for that.

I think the bags are better than changing the springs if you don't regularly tow or have a large payload.
