Default High Beam issues

Ok, I thought it was the multi switch in the steering column, replaced that and I still have an issue, Here is the problem.

There are some aftermarket fog lamps wired into the factory fog lamps and they work when you pull the run light switch ( on the dash ) on at the first position, Then the second position turns on the headlights.

Now when you pull back on the directional lever to turn on the high beams, the switch clicks but as you release it the high beams dont stay on? I dont understand why but the passenger high does not work at that time?

When the fog lamps ( running lights ) are on both the high beams will flash with the lever, and when no lights are on both high beams will flash. But when the headlights are on, only the drivers side high beam will flash?

I am baffled with this, and I need to get the truck inspected soon so I can street it,,,, What do I do?
Thanks In Advance for any help.

Sorry to hear the multifunction switch didn't take care of the problem. I had an intermittent issue with my headlamp switch that would have the fogs turning off if I hit a bump on my 2006 RAM. Had the dash switch replaced and that fixed my problem.

Check the ground wire on the passenger side headlight.

Ground is good as the light works any other time...is there some sort of relay under the hood for the high beams? Everything in the fuse panel is good.

I do not have experience or wiring information on your model year, so am only applying general wiring experience. I recently had a similar issue with a 2006 Chevy van, and the culprit turned out to be a faulty ground wire connection right at the headlight bulb. In this case, the light on the affect side was 'slightly' dimmer than the properly working counterpart. Are your lights of equal brightness on each side when working?

Yes, equal brightness, just the highs flash when you pull the lever in all positions with the fogs on, with headlights on the passenger doesnt work and the highs wont stay on? I am dreading taking it in for repairs as money is really tight...

I'd pull the headlamp plug loose and check the ground for continuity with a DVOM.

Ok, I took a little video of what it does, as you can see the fog and aux. lamps run together ( wire tapped ) and they go off with the headlights on or flashing the high beams ( see both lights work at this time )
Then while headlights are on and you flash the high beams only the drivers work and the high beams will not stay on no matter what.... I looked, wiggled all the wiring with no luck of any shorts or anything, could it be the dash light switch? I heard on the 97 there were no headlight relays and everything ran from the headlight switch?? Thanks for any help and responses on this issue in advance. Great bunch here and a great atmosphere on the site !!!!

Where's the video? The dash switch feeds power to low and high beam circuits from the same source, so I doubt that's it.
