Default Engine question

I have a 03 ram 1500 . it came to me with no engine. I know... Thats sad. It use to have the 4.7. The transmission is still in the truck with tourqe converter. I have searched and read and watched videos. Some people say no. Some say yes. Some say maybe with modifications. But as i understand none of these people ever tried . what im getting at is. I have a 1976 318. Will the flexplate off the 4.7 fit the 318 and the trans bolt to the engine ? If there is any people out there with some loose parts they could mock up and see if it will all bolt together that would be soo cool. I would have to buy a flexplate to try this myself. Id like to know before i spend out money on a part and it not work. If anyone can do this please let me know what the outcome is. Thanks

Magnoom already spoke the truth- If you're not an absolute freak, not fearing fabricating and expenses, you will probably give up half way.
If you take all the cost together, you'd probably be better off to just buy a refurbished 4.7 somewhere- or even a new one- the internet is full with sellers, selling those engine in every state- naked to fully equipped and ready to install. It will not be less cost and you will know for sure, you will not be stranded somewhere, because you did not know, the loose cable somewhere needed to be connected to something what is not even there.
