Default So it finally happened

So today I do what every good parent does take my kids to the water park. Go over the check list we good to go. I get there early get preferred parking find a great end spot park right to the curb don't have to worry about door dings getting everyone ready to head inside turn to make sure I lock my truck and I get to see the one person who has the most room possibly in history kick open their driver's door like they raiding a crack house bang right into my driver's side rear door so now I got a nice crease in my door from the edge of her door. Took everything I had in me not to end up in jail and have fun with the family despite how it started there. So I got all her info and called her insurance company so let's see how long this takes to get fixed she did admit it was her fault and she said she would call her insurance company to let them know someone would be calling to file a claim with them but I'm not very trusting of people so I went to the leo on site told him what happened and his is filling a report just in case I need it. If it all goes well my faith in humanity will be restored. Thanks for letting me vent I'll keep you updated as I am.

I don't understand why people do this, its not like it doesn't damage their car too. Not to mention the lack of respect for others and their property.

At least you were there to see it. I had to get a dent pulled out of my door last Summer and I still don't know how it got there. Cracked the paint too so the door had to be repainted. Your door will be replaced but it'll be on her insurance company's dime

"Lack of respect for others and their property"

Plain and simple. They probably dont care about their own car getting damaged because its probably an already damaged POS. In their world, everyone elses' car is a damaged POS too, so who cares, right?

I agree, its crazy. Have respect for others and their property no matter the condition, cost, etc.

This is another reason why I added the widest running boards I could find, hoping the the boards will take the hit instead of the doors.

lucky you, that you've seen it- I have a ding in my rear door and don't know where, when and how- found it after running through the car wash.
Don't want to put you down or so, but I learned: ALWAYS CALL THE COP TO HAVE A POLICE REPORT. This way, the person can not just say, it never happened later.

I always thought the running boards would save it myself. My guess is the shape of the door plays into it it was a sport car so the edge was more oval than square like an SUV door.

Also the first thing I did was look for an officer at the front gate which was there and have a paper trail as well goes to the shop tomorrow paintless dent says they can get it out it shall be seen if they can.

This is why I got my side steps. I was in the USAF and had a friend who had just bought a new car. He and his wife were at a furniture store when the same thing happened, wife was in the car he was in the store. Wife was so pissed she got out and just started slamming her door against the other car and demolished both of them...............
