Default Buffing Factory Paint/Clear Coat Thickness

Have any of you shine guys out there got any advice or experience on how thick the factory clear coat is on the newest Ram trucks? I've been considering going over the truck with my buffer to reduce the factory orange peel, but don't want to if the factory clear coat is suoer thin. I don't want to wet sand the whole thing, because I would never expect factory CC to be thick enough for that. Am I wrong?
