Default Hub assembly

Can a hub still be making the annoying roaring noise even if there in no up and down play when moving the tire???? Roaring noise is constant after 20mph gets louder the faster I go but noise goes a away why turning to the left! My brother replaced the cv axle on the driver side a week ago thinking that was the issue but no luck next thing I’m thinking is hub or could he have possibly not installed CV joint correctly?

Yes, if the bearing or races are pitted it can make noise with no play.

Remove the tire and try spinning the hub. If it turns really easy/keeps turning after you spin it for even a second then its bad and needs to be replaced.

Do this but before spinning collapse the brake piston to take the brake drag off of the rotor.
Even then if it is 4WD, it may stop quickly due to the axle drag. Spin and see if you can feel or hear the slightly noise.
