Default Trans swap ?

I have a 97 Ram 1500 four-wheel drive with the 5.9 L 360 46re transmission can I swap Transmissions with a 2001 Dodge Dually same motor everything? I have read that I would probably have to swap tail shaft but other than that and possibly some connectors would it be interchangeable? Need help ASAP please I have got to get back on the road

The 46re was used with the 360 engine on both the 1500 & 2500 models
They used the 47re with the diesel engines

GTyankee- Thank you so much man. I know this info is probably somewhere in this forum but man I've honestly looked so long for a site that seems "trusty" that my eyes hurt. Literally. I just kind of stopped after making that post. Could you possibly give any advice as far as the "new" to me trans"? What to look at/for Thanks again man. Very much appreciated.

I just Googled the transmission, i don't mess with them myself
I have a friend that does side work on weekends, he works at a independent transmission shop.
He has rebuilt several transmissions in my garage, i have most of the equipment needed
He brought the specialized tools along with him.
Of course he had to use the shops steam cleaning equipment
