Default Newest 2016 RAM 2500 Recall

Coming up on 3 years with my 2500 RAM (HEMI) and this is the 6th recall. Anyone else get a recall about the torque values on the steering linkage?

"FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall to inspect the torque values. If the torque values meet the requirement, the nuts will be welded to the adjuster sleeve. If the torque values do not meet the requirement, the drag link assembly will be replaced. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in the 1st Quarter of 2019."
Looks like it is set to be released in the next month. If you have any other questions regarding the recall, FCA advises that you call the recall hotline 800-992-1997

I called my dealer and they said they don't have a fix for this yet? The recall notice warned the steering can become disconnected while driving causing loss of steering!! And they told me to call back in a week or 2 to see if they have a fix for this!! I persisted because I do some long driving hauling stuff. They relented and told me to come in and they'll check the torque values to see if the nut is still at its proper torque value.
Does this concern anyone else?

OMG! Are you serious!!!??? Is this HD trucks or across all lines? I have a 1500 and will DEFINITELY get on this! I need to know that wherever, however and whenever i'm driving i'm in control... at least in theory. This is very disconcerting.

The dealer checked the torque settings on the linkage nuts and they were still set as per manufacturing standards. They said, as soon as they have a permanent fix they will notify me. It's been >3 weeks now still waiting. WOW. Let's just pray I and whoever else this may affect doesn't end up in a ditch or worse waiting for 'a fix'.

I took my 2016 2500 Ram in for the recall on it a week ago today.Last Monday I took my Jeep Grand Cherokee in and then went home and got my P/U and took it in and then drove my Jeep home. (it had a recall on it too something with the cruise control?) They still have my Ram . Should be able to get it tomorrow. I have to go to the doctor today it was supposed to be finished o Friday and they called and said it would not be done until Monday. What is making me mad is they called on my cellphone not my house phone if I had not looked at my e-mail at 3pm on Friday i would never have known they even called until I called them asking abut if my truck was done. They gave me the lame excuse that they had just received the solenoid for the trans and they didn't have a rack available to get my truck done when they promised the truck would be done by close of business on Thursday so I could pick it up for a trip I needed to make to go to a specialist on Monday. I'm about pissed enough to file a complaint with Fiat Chrysler but a lot of good that will do.

I talked to my service writer: he said that my truck wasn't on the recall list for the drag link, but he also told me that he was having every Ram truck and or Van Drag Links checked for proper torque. So who do you believe

I took my truck in for service and warranty recalls.
When I took the truck in to the agency, my DRL worked and my Cargo lights worked. Now they do not. I took the truck back and after about 3 hours of San Diego Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram screwing around I told my service writer I wanted my truck back. I left told him that he was about to lose a customer. His response was Well good luck finding somebody to fix your truck. I called the general manager and I talked to him he wants me to bring my truck back. I am almost at the point where it will never go back there.
I do not want to take it to Perry Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram either. But they are only 5 miles from my house as compared to 23 miles to San Diego Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram.

Only way would be if they said they had researched it hand had an intelligent plan to fix the problem. Otherwise its just more poking at stuff.

Even though the truck is fairly new is there a Haynes or Chilton manual available for these trucks with wiring info? Common fuse because the cargo lights were optional?

The new Haynes and Chilton manuals (30043 and 20406 respectivey) have 4th gen Ram models through 2018.

My Haynes only goes to 2014, and in reality it has zero info on the 8 speeds or EPS systems that were added in 2013, so I am looking forward to these
