Question How to see check engine code with push button start?

I have the push button start and was wondering if I can see the check engine light code through my evic? I had heard that you can see the codes with the key start but what about the push button start?

Thanks

i have never heard of the ability to read codes directly form the EVIC, i dont think dodge would do such a thing since they love to charge for a "diagnostic test"

you can always buy a simple code reader from a local hardware store for dirt cheap. a programmer would also have the ability to read/clear codes.

just wondering, your driving a 2014.. if any codes appeared why even bother reading them yourself when your truck will have full warranty and dodge/ram will fix it for free anyway?

I haven't found it either. I'm curious on the new trucks if you can get it through the electronic dashboard control system somewhere now. If not my next truck might be with a key!

The key dance doesn't work with the newer Rams; I think the 3d gen trucks were the last ones to do it. If you don't have a code reader yourself then most auto parts stores will let you use theirs for free

You could read the codes that way with Rams previous to the 2009 models

For those who use smart phones, you can buy a device similar to the Blue Driver Obd2 scan tool

It cost maybe 50% of an equal scan tool that would accomplish the same things

It was so handy. Doesn't make sense to get rid of it...
