I don't know if the 2020 Ecodiesels are out yet, but my 2017 gets insane mpgs and has been trouble free for 44,000 miles.
The 2020 eco's will be out in a few months and I anxiously await the final results. The numbers look good, but we'll see.
Comparing the HD's, a '19 F250 rides like a Flinstone's car compared to the '19 2500; both were gasser crew cabs.

There's that, they're REALLY proud of the Tundra it seems!

The same applies to the equally aged Tacoma.

The Tacoma was actually redone a couple years ago; the Tundra is still riding the same chassis from 2007

I came from a 2012 Ford F150 Platinum Eco Boost 4x4 to a 2016 RAM 3500 Cummins 4x4. The Ford vacuum based 4x4 front hubs couldn't take getting wet and muddy on weekend duck hunting trips in Arkansas. I had it with the grinding hubs and multiple hub replacements. Dealer continued to replace everything associated with the vacuum and hubs. I could live with the EcoBoost sucking in gallons of condensation from the air cooler causing misfires and smoke. Ford's solution was to simply reduce the efficiency of the air charge cooler to reduce condensation. The RAM and Cummins has been the Bomb. I get better MPG, an additional hp tune, and massive torque with the Cummins and Asin transmission. 4x4 system is solid. RAMs are made for work. Never going back to Ford. Never.

You're correct. It was updated but it "feels" like a re-skin to me, even with the 3.5 V6. It's a nice truck, but it's not for me. A few co-workers have them so I guess not doing anything too radical is the key to their success.

A lot of guys seem to think the older model was better. There is a lot of hate for the new Atkinson cycle V6
