Default Lightning storm/ dead truck

2014 Ram with the 3.6.
Had a freak out of nowhere thunderstorm last night. Lot of lighting but nothing that seemed to hit real close. Went to go move my truck in and wouldn't start. Wouldn't turn over, gauges lit up but we're flashing. There was clicking coming from under the hood so I disconnected the battery and waited till this morning.

It's acting like the battery is dead. Tried boosting it but still no luck.. It at least tries to turn over now and all the lights and gauges are working properly. Is it possible it fried the battery to the point that I can't even boost it.?

How did you try to boost it? What did you use?

Tried jumping it off of my wife's car. Both to my battery and with my battery totally disconnected. With the jumper cables connected to my battery the voltage is 13v, when the key is in the start position the voltage drops to 5v. I haven't been able to test start voltage with the jumper cables hooked directlyjust my battery cables

Is it still the original battery that came with your truck ?
If it is, then the battery is at least 4 years old & has been running on luck

Yes it's the original battery. I guess it could be a coincidence that it took a crap during the storm but it has never faltered a bit or even struggled to start.
