When i start my 2001 dodge ram in the morning, its idle goes up and down, from 1000 to 1500 rpms, until warm. Once its warm it idles fine. I've heard it could be the throttle control sensor, idle air control, even a carbeurator problem. anyone know? thanks
Carbs are a thing of the past. It could be a vacuum leak, intake manifold not sealing right, IAC or TPS. Check the intake manifold bolts, check for vacuum leaks.
Sounds like the IAC to me. My 98 does the same thing. It does it in the morning on first start. After it runs for a few minutes it idles fine. Take it off and clean it with carb cleaner. Should fix you right up.
