Ok, I know this is not a "Ram" per se, but it is a Power Wagon.

In 1979 my friends and I went 4 wheeling. The blue bronco was one truck behind me and got stuck. I figured my beast would pull him out easier than snot.

So, I turned around, got close to him, hooked up the chain, put it in reverse and just spun my way down about 2 1/2 feet or so. (I turned around only because I had a huge metal bumper on the front that we thought would be a better tow point)

Unbeknownst to us, there was a rock about 4 foot in diameter directly behind my passenger rear tire.

I unhooked from the Bronco and figured I could back out.

WRONG

I just spun.

It took 3 trucks, 2 chained together and 1 chained to my front bumper to get me out.

Aahhh, the good old days.

Sorry for the poor quality photos but that was what we had in 79

truck in front of the Bronco:

another shot from behind and showing the Chev behind the Bronco to pull backwards.

Bronco pulled out, turned around and in line with the Chevy to pull me out

finally I was free

only took about 2 1/2 hours or so.

It was fun

The truck was a 1963 panel wagon (not sure what exact model) with the 318 industrial V8, 4 speed and military lug tires that were about 38 or 40 inches tall.

I cut the rear off the panel, put the back of a chevy cab onto it, used about 2 gallons of bondo, painted it silver and blue, and built a flat bed on the rear.

It "usually" went anywhere.

I really enjoy stories like that. Right around that time when I was a teenager half of my friends were into 4x4s and the other half drag racing. I was into the drag racing but loved to ride along with friends going mudding. Thanks for taking me back. Cool truck too.
