I'm trying to find a replacement accelerator cable for my 1994 Dodge 1500 5.9 4wd. Everything I see has a pin clip on the throttle body end where mine has the small rod perpendicular to the cable like #5/4 in the diagram here. HALP!!! Where can I get this unicorn.....or how can I modify the throttle armature to use the pin clip type??

It's not a Unicorn. Your issue is that there are 2 different 5.9 motors in '94, one a diesel, the other gas. The cables are not the same so you have to be looking at the correct one. Also, some of the Ebay listings are wrong so that is why the pictures do not match. Actually quite a few of them show the press on socket style with a different part number that matches but not correct for the listed application.

Looks like you must have gas based on your description. It appears as though you may need part #52078651. Some show as discontinued, others available so ? Here is a completed Ebay listing to see a picture.

Benny's store, Mopar Online Parts, shows it as discontinued. Here is a link that shows but more than likely is not available. You'll have to ask.

Thank you topgun!! I had just found this same part late last night but couldn't tell by the pic what type of connector it had on the throttle end. Thanks for giving me a part number that I can use with my searches. I'm a little confused though...When I go to Mopar Parts Giant they show the part as available... I ordered the part...hopefully it's the right one! :D thanks again

Well, I managed to fix my old cable. Took the barrel end off with a propane torch, pulled the cable out of the sleeve and cleaned up the broken strands. I then took two clamps and twisted the cable to get the wire nice and tight in the damaged area, then used some JB weld to hold them in place. Then I took 3 small plates of steel, drilled a 17/64 hole through two of them, then cut a groove for the cable. Clamped all 3 together with the cable in then melted some heavy duty solder into the hole. Took it apart and viola all fixed and works great, I will probably buy a new cable with the wrong end, remove that and then use the barrel fixture to put the right end on it... good grief Charlie Brown....

Update to the update....three days after getting the cable fixed and working my premonition that I would find the cable once I fixed the old one, came to fruition. Got an email from a mopar parts company with the name of a dealership that showed they had one in stock. I called and when I gave the part number to the parts guy, he says, "Man that part number sounds familiar. I think I had some one call about that one or something." Then he tells me "Yup, I sold our last one yesterday... sorry."
Emailed the mopar parts guy again and he gave me two more numbers, called the first one and they had it in stock, so I bought that one and it should be on it's way..... weird how things work out....guess the universe just wanted to see how determined I was to get my truck on the road again:ROFLMAO::LOL:....
