1994 Ram 1500 Brake/Tail light wires

Hey all I tried this forum before it the answers were great so I thought I would try again.

My 1994 ram 1500 recently lost power in the tail and brake lights.. For some reason reverse light still works. The truck has a cap and a light on cap that was recently removed. When I looked at the wires it has been fixed 3 times and I think needs replacing. Am I right?

Where do I get replacement wires? I tried a wrecker and it turns out that I need 1994 wires because all others there had reverse prongs or newer technology for the connections. Hopefully I can find replacement wires...

Check Fuse 18 (15A) in the Fuse block on the left end of the dash.
Next check the light switch itself for melting and/or distortion. If any melting or distortion of the switch is noticed, replace it. They are a common point of failure and rather inexpensive. :)
