I'm going to come across as a girl on this one..I had to have the catalytic converter replaced last may. Prior to that it was acting like a dog and bucking badly. I put new spark plugs in, cleaned the injectors, ect. afterwards. It just started bucking again. It's fine over 80mph (don't ask..ha). It idles fine. My husband passed away, I have no clue what I could be missing here. Would it buck if the O2 sensors are shot? Could the bad cat have fouled something that I'm missing? It's also running too rich and won't pass emissions for the first time. I'm trying to do the work myself and I'm going crazy (er). I don't suck at it, but I'm not a mechanic. Going to a shop right now isn't an option for me. Thank you.

One recommendations that I have stuck with is if you replace a cat you replace the corresponding O2 sensors as the old ones could have been part of the reason the cat failed. At this point I would recommend running a can of Seafoam thru the gas tank. You can get it at most auto parts suppliers.

O2 sensors are extremely easy if you have the strength to break them loose. I did mine earlier this year. Who knows, you might get a gas mileage boost from replacing them if the truck is running rich. Mine went from a sad 8 mpg to roughly 14 mpg average. Oh, and just as a side note, screw the new sensors into the pipe before you plug them in... I have known a few people who ruined brand new sensors by plugging them in first.

95 still had the "schrader" style test port on the fuel rail. Screws right on! Test for fuel pressure, 45-55 psi. If you rent the kit from Autozone or others, it has enough reach to tuck under your wiper so you can read it as you are driving and verify if this is your problem or not. A Ram will start and run as low as 18psi, but not well.
