Recently bought this 1998 Ram 3500 with V8 magnum engine. It suddenly wouldn't start. Checked the pressure in the fuel rail ... none. Checked the relay and it clicks and tried two other brand new ones, they click but don't get the juice to the fuel pump. When I put a jumper wire in place of the relay and the fuel pump works fine. Couldn't find a schematic on line so I don't know if there is any other sensor that might be involved. Is there any type of sensor designed to stop the pump say, when it "thinks" there is pressure in the rail? Will it hurt the pump to run with the jumper wire in place of the relay? Also, I couldn't find the location of any fuel filter. Could it be built into the fuel pump assembly? Any help will be appreciated.
