So, I'm not really a "truck-afficionado" but I really love my truck. I don't know a lot about it and am not a "do-it-myself" kinda gal. I'm just having this one, really weird, really major issue with it, and I have no idea what's wrong.

After I turn it off, especially if it's hot outside or its been sitting in the sun for a while, when I get back in and turn it on, it wont start. It turns over and cranks, but keeps cranking like the engine wont catch. We thought it may have been the catalytic converter, but I'm starting to think it may be a different issue. Anyways, after letting it sit for a while, usually if I don't touch it it can be as little as 10 minutes, it will finally turn over and run. The muffler isn't connected, (it rusted thru) but I doubt that's related. Anyways, I'm just really hoping someone can give me some insight before I take this in and get told its a giant, expensive fix.

Any Ideas Welcome~~~!!!! :shy::shy::shy:

Does it do this on the first startup of the day as well? If it does, try cycling the key 3 or 4 times from off to run and then try to start it. If it starts normally, you have a fuel pump check valve that's leaking.

Does the truck sputter at all like it's trying to start? Does it ever die while your driving it, or is it specific to start-up?
