Just bought the truck 3 days ago! Kind of feel like a 15 yr old with a permit, looking for excuses to drive. I have been a Chevy guy my whole life and had a Colorado (i5) and a 10' Silverado w/ smaller v8. This truck is by far more fun to dive.

Only thing is.. Does anyone know how I can put a front license plate on w/o having to drill holes in my bumper?

Congratulations and welcome to the "Z"! There are companies that make products for the front plate you can use Google to find. The best ones are a little pricy. I held off for a couple months and after a warning just said screw it and mounted the bracket that came with the truck. I used smaller diameter stainless hex head screws from the local hardware store and drilled pilot holes to make the install as "clean" as possible.

Mine came with the bracket already installed, so can't help you with that one, sorry.

Congrats!! I was (am) the same way, I am finding all sorts of excuses to drive it. My wife and I both have new vehicles and we have decided to not worry about front plates until either one of us get a ticket then we will figure something out for the front plates. She has had hers for about a year and myself about 2 months and no problems thus far.

Blame it on the cops for your stupidity. Clearly you know it's a state statute that front plates must be displayed, so WHY would you drive off the lot knowing that was an easy fix the dealership could have taken care of for you?

+1^^^^^agreed. Its probably also their fault for people speeding, tinting too dark, not fixing broken items on their vehicles, etc....

Congrats on the new Ram! This is also my first truck from Chrysler and I too find reasons to go drive it! I was strictly a Chevy fan until I pulled the trigger on my 14' Ram 1500 Express earlier this week and this thing is amazing! I know the feeling. I am 65 years old and have owned many trucks, cars and SUV's over the years and I still get a great feeling every time that I climb into this new Ram Sport and start up that engine. You are fortunate that the dealer did not automatically drill holes in the front bumper as that gives you options. I just bought a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited in Houston Texas for my wife and they had already drilled the holes for a front plate. I do not need a front plate in Louisiana and I am upset about those ugly holes in the front bumper. :FIREdevil:

Might not be the best option or the most pretty, but i didnt want to drill holes on my old car, so i zip tied the plate to the lower grille. It never vibrated or came off. Other optios are "hole less" plates which use a piece of metal 1" x 8-9" for the license plate top holes. in the middle of that thin metal plate have 2 anchors. (like wall anchors) place them through the grille, tighten them down to pull the plate against the grill. Its a multi step process, and i would do it if my truck didnt already have the bracket already installed. If your worrying about rubbing the plate on the plastic, add some foam strips to the back corners of the plate.

again this might be tacky, but it keeps that bumper pretty. Or just say eff it and throw the plate on the dash.

Couldn't do the plate on the front of my vehicle, either, if screw holes were necessary. Luckily in Michigan we don't have the requirement. But most cops are reasonable and don't pull anyone over if you don't have it coming. One year I forgot to put my new tabs on my truck and drove it for like 8 months with expired tabs. Never got stopped. And today I was on my way to take my wife to an appointment; we were cruising at seven over and drove right on by a cop driving in an adjacent lane on the highway. He didn't even blink.

I'd do your thing and not fret the plate.

My Longhorn came with the factory holes in the chrome bumper and the bracket is still wrapped in the original plastic and laying in the rambox. Fortunately Florida does not require the front plate. Perhaps the next guy will want it...

Nice truck, so new it still has the blue protectant covering the white letters on the tires.:doh:
