Hello, I've got a question that I've gotten many different answers to.
I have a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 4x4 with stock lift and stock rims. I have a set of 35x12.5x16 tires I want to put on it. I've been told that they will fit with a 2" leveling kit. It looks to me that it will work but it would be tight.

I've also been told that the leveling kit will put untold amounts of stress on the front end. Then others have told me I need a 4" to 6" lift to fit the tires. There seems to be plenty of room in the back. Anyway I'm just wondering if anyone else has tried only the leveling kit and stock rims with 35's

Thanks

35.0x12.5R16 tires are way too wide for your stock 16x7 rims. I would go with a 285/75R16 tire. You could probably go to a 315/75R16 tire if you're looking for height. It's the width that's not going to work with a 12.5" wide tire on a narrow rim. -Glen

Being your truck is a 2014 Ram 1500 Big Horn, you can run 35.0X12.5R20 tires on your your stock rims. You will have to level your truck, and run 10mm hub centric /wheel centric spacers on the front for clearance depending on what tire you buy. I'm running 35.0X12.5R20 Kumho Road Venture MT's on my stock rims, 2012 Ram 1500 Laramie. I'm leveled with Rancho Quick Lift struts, and am running 10mm Motorsport Tech billet spacers front and rear for an even stance. My tires are a true 35.0" tire, measuring 34.9' tall and 12.5" wide. Some 35.0' tires run slightly narrower. Here's the link to my post showing pictures of my truck:
