Hi there, new to the forum.. im having a problem with my 2002 5.9 v8 auto tranny. i cant seem to find the problem with the temp gauge.. ive replaced water pump, thermostat, coolant resevoir, and i have no leaks.

The problem mostly occurs going up hill. once i hit a hill no matter the size the temp gauge rises all the way and the "check gauges" light comes on.

I cant seem to figure out the problem.. and i cant find a solution..

bad gauge? fan clutch? radiator? help???!!!

The engine creates more heat under a load. Going up a hill puts it under a load. Because you are still moving going up a hill, my guess would be that your radiator is not moving the coolant through it like it should and not able to cool it down quick enough. If you haven't replaced the radiator yet, that would be where I'd start.
