Barely runs, sucking air from dip stick tube and oil fill severely, told it could be crank case vent tube but can not find it? Any help?

I took off from a stop and it made a loud noise like a tire blowing out and then I had no power

What year is it and how many miles? Does it backfire when you give it gas?

I hate to say it but sounds like a broken valve spring. When the hemi first came out they had some valve spring issues. Easiest ways to check is with scan tool looking at adaptive. Not having that I would run comp check if you have a low cyl remove that valve cover and check. It can be changed without removing the head

If it is sucking air thru the dipstick tube & the oil fill cap I would look at the intake gaskets. Where else could cause vacuum to come from.

What about the crank case vent tube?

the crankcase vent tube goes to the air cleaner so that it receives clean air for the pcv system. The intake gaskets not sealing on the block side will cause a major vacuum leak. The air it sucks will have to come from somewhere. Hence the vacuum thru the oil fill cap & the dipstick tube. 2.8 & 3.1 chevy engines were quite common for this.
