I have a 2004 Ram and have been having problems with engine not idling and at times dying(choking out). At idle, it acts like it is going to die, then revs up, then back down, and so forth.
Spraying cleaner in the throttle body usually does good for a few days and then the systems return.
Is there a sensor or component I should clean or replace? Do I need to take entire tb off and thoroughly clean?
Am I missing the boat entirely....

My 2002 did this not only at idle, but when in gear stopped for red lights, and also while traveling it could be felt. $30 and 15 minutes to replace the old TPS (throttle position sensor) with a new one and she was good as new.

Sounds exactly familiar. I may give it a good cleaning and a new TPS and see how it goes. Thank You.

Tps clean, throttle body removal and clean, check egr and pcv, replace as needed. Tps reset works sometimes too. Turn key to on, wait for all lights to turn off, press gas down to floor, slowly let it back up, key off, start.
