Noise does not happen while idle, starts to grind upon movement. The speed or frequency of the grinding noise increases with speed. It appears to be coming from front left end. It is fairly loud and I pretty much know it is coming from the front left tire area because when driving next to concrete dividers the sound is dramatically louder when wall is on left.

The pads do need replacement, but have only been squeaking for a couple weeks. Does not pull left or right while braking or not, and noise does not change while braking.

same problem here

same grinding sound that starts as soon as i get up to 15MPH and gets louder as i go faster. Brake pads changed and sound is still there. What should i do now?

I also believe it is the front hub...your wheel bearings come with the hub , lug nut studs, and sensor all in one, easy to change, jack up the wheel , take off the wheel, then spin it with your hand, listen for a scraping or grinding noise to come from it, if the weight of the wheel is on it sometimes it wont make as much noise, if you are not sure take the other side off also and compare the sounds, you probably will hear it very well, just did mine last weekend... wheel off, take caliper off, take caliper bracket off, take off rotor, remove 3 bolts holding on hub,remove sensor connector from inner fender, , tap from backside , and its off, change them both, if one is bad chances are the other doesnt have long...

might also wanna check cv axles before if your truck is 4x4. had the same initial thought of it being a hub and upon investigation i found that instead i had just made my cv joint explode :D

I just changed my left front hub assembly and it was NOT an easy job! I had to remove the Knuckle and use a 5 ton press to get the hub assembly out! I cleaned it up(the knuckle) and installed the new one, took it back to the dealer and had a front end alignment and inspection done. It failed inspection the first time because of the bearing.
My '09 Ram trx4 has 30,000 miles on it. I changed the bearing two weeks ago and today went and got 4 new tires put on at a place where they check the alignment for free. They couldn't check the alignment because the new bearing has too much play! I watched the guy move the tire and did see some movement at the boot so now I'm wondering if I have a bad CV joint?

I agree with all posts on this one. Repalce hub bearings. My 1500 was grinding and I swore it was in the left front. I ordered both and when I took them out it was the pass side. It spun with no resistance and sounded like it had sand in it. I got mine from BUYAUTOPARTS.com for $85.00 a piece in January 2015. They come with a guarantee.

that's a good price. do you remember if they were sfk or Timken?

best price i've ever seen on the sfk was $300 for a pair.

Not sure make. I just looked them up again and now they are $80.16 a piece for 1500's. 2500's are a little more. I sent an email into to them asking. See if I get a response. When I got mine, they looked just like the factory. Put them in in January and no problems at all since. They advertise them as new, not reman. 1 year unlimited mileage warranty.
