So although I had no plans of modifying my truck when I bought it the tuner bug got to me and it all began again. I wanted a subtle yet noticeable sound system that would not completely remove the rear under seat cargo storage. This is what I came up with. ( Sorry if the pictures aren't the greatest quality I get caught up in the garage and forget to take some or rush them but this is enough to get the jist of it, not completely done but working on it.)
What I started with
After I Removed the factory fold down storage.
The sub in the box making sure it fits ordered it from a local sound shop. Pioneer is my brand of choice for a few years now.
Trace out the opposite sides storage fold. I used quarter inch sheet wood

This is where you will have to do some of your own calculating because every sub box will have different measurements. My trucks the quad cab btw.
Now I had to build a new hinge bracket to go underneath the seat. giving a place to bolt the hinges to the new flip up storage compartment. Just painted over the wood with black metallic spray paint because where it is you can really see it anyway. this bolts into the stock seat bracket. you will notice where the original fold down flaps bolted in, I even used the same nuts.
.
Sanded down the board and made it all smooth and even Then wrapped it with sub enclosure box cloth. grey to match the stuff of the sub box I bought originally.
This is where I am at and what the final product looked like for the amp mount with storage underneath.
I am in the process of running the wires to run my door speakers off of the rear amp. I ran all the wires properly hidden with the original harnesses. I drilled holes out and sealed them for the positive and negatives. note that my front and rear are both 6x9 speakers. not sure where the 5 and 1/4 size that I keep reading comes from. I grounded the grounds from my rear amp to the seat belt bracket for the front seats because the rear was an awkward spot to get to. I have a power converter wired in behind the sub box that I will post pictures of soon. a xxx 2 farad capacitor also running to the amp that powers my sub.
I am in the process of picking a pioneer set of 6x9 for the front and a head unit. I want to wire it in with the steering wheel control adapter too. if you have any questions feel free to ask. comments or suggestions are welcome.
