I took my kenwood kvt-516 from my eclipse and wanted to install it in my ram and when i removed the stock radio and looked at the connecter it was different, so I went to ask my local audio store about the correct connecter, he said it requires a $160 electric box, is this right? i just had to splice wires to a connecter to connect to my eclipse, shouldn't it be the same?

I have a KVT-514 and in order to install it in my 2008 I needed a converter from PAC audio which was right around $160.

You have to use a canbus adapter. C2R-CHY4 is what you need from PAC. Its not $160 though. I bought mine at Sonic Electronics for $80.

Just purchased PAC C2R-CHY4 for my truck for $66 brand new on Ebay. On the 3rd. just type it in on Ebay or Amazon you can get it alot cheaper then $160.
