How bout we start sending this guy some complaints...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RvqJMOQ6FiQ...I've been seriously kicking around the idea of 2012 charger srt8 but I'm not buying another vehicle that can't be tuned. Come on CJD, if you want people to buy your performance vehicles then your gonna have to make them tuneable like the gm and ford's. Anyone got any ideas on where to start sending the complaints?

Believe me, he's well aware of what we want in terms of tuning the '11+s. All the SRT chat sessions over on LXforums have made it VERY clear that it's holding back a lot of sales from the modding crowd, but sadly, that modding crowd doesn't account for a whole lot of sales compared to mom and pop that just want a modern throw-back muscle car

Hell I'd be willing to sign off on a warranty once I got into the computer if that's what it took. I, unlike a lot of other people modding, don't expect the vehicle manufacturers to fix something that I've been tuning on. These newest offerings from dodge have a lot of potential but are going to be left far behind if they don't deal with the programming issue.

This shit's driving me crazy. One thing I loved about my 04 was the options I had with it performance wise. Then Dodge makes all this headway to talk about performance, even giving us peaks at creations like the 392 Quick Silver Ram and yet we can't have fun with our own trucks. They even produced an R/T version that basically yells out "Go Fast!!", and yet I'm limited to an intake and a muffler Performance wise and it sucks. We may not be a majority but we're an important part of the process. Hell even the 2010 Ram got a Hennessy addition which was awesome until CJD change the ECM on our trucks and encrypted them. It's just a big pain in the ass lol

THIS CRAP SUCKS. And from the people in the Business that Ive talked to, It may be another 2 years or more before they come out with a tuner. Said the encryption code is going to be HARD to crack. Had a general manager tell me, that Crystler might not ever release encryption codes. So we'll see what happens.

When they start releasing crate engines they are going to have to release some sort of tuner with it too or they wont sell because say someone wants to put a 6.1 in an old Dart, how are they going to make it work if they want to run a carb on it or something.

Itll be interesting to see how they do all this

I was talking to a guy that writes encryption code for aircraft & other things
he gets requests for his company to crack codes every now & then
they set up a machine or 2 & put a code breaker to work, it runs constantly until the code is broken
No one has the resources, money included, to have a machine dedicated to breaking a code to run for 24 hours a day for a week, or until the code is broken
we are not talking 128 bit code, it is either 256 or 512 encryption

Mopar should come out with their own Predator Tuner, they could easily make their money back

Maybe they just want to sell a lot of these :)

That quicksilver is AWESOME! I would love those brakes and those seats in black and blue instead of black and red

so, just out of curiosity... is there a big enough difference between the 2010 and the 2011-2012 trucks that I couldn't just run a tune-able 2010 PCM in my 2012?

^^ no there are a few companies that will do the PCM swap tuning required. Hit up ELD44 and look for his PCM swap thread. IIRC its north of $500 and it isnt OBDII port tunable, you have to send it back to them for retunes

Less-par

First, I must confess to always being a Ford man. When it came time to buy a new truck, I was amazed at how nice the Rams were. Without doing any research (my own damn fault) I bought a 2011 RCSB 4x4. I must say that I absolutely love the truck, but....... This total lack of tunability (?) is making me wish I had bought a Ford. I am surrounded by Duramax's (Chipped) and Tundra's (5.9L) and can't run with them. Doesn't Dodge realize that there is no room in the performance truck market for second place???
