I concur. I just traded a car that was in the same category as far as encrypted ECM and no tunes available. I thought, well, going back to a full sized American truck, that issue should disappear... I'm not as put off by it as many are, but it's still pretty irritating.

Im actually kinda happy its taking a while for them to break the encription. Its saving me money, less stuff to buy and piut on the truck. I just got and started modding the truck and have many parts to go, but coming from a subaru where you tune for everything ive still got my mind set on the tune for each part. (i know you dont have to for a truck) but its kinda nice having some extra $$ each week in m bank account instead of dishing it out on parts like a perv at a strip club in rhode island.

But dont get me wrong, im wondering WTF is taking so long aswell. I remember tuning my 06 ram and it was quite a diffrence.

One thing i would really like to see is to be able to fully disable that traction control!!!!!!

I talked to Arrington again today. They're working on their tuning as we speak. They're gonna call me towards the end of next week for an update. If it's all good I'll be shipping my truck out for a blower and cam.
They'll be doing PCM swaps like BG does...but I think I trust Arrington a bit more.

I'm confused on how people can't chirp a damn tire. I have the open diff 3.55's (I hate it) but from a stand still can get the 285r22 to smoke up quite a bit. I'll happily post a video when I get my truck back from the shop. If TCM bothers you, turn it off, it is a nice safety feature to have. I used to hate it but when it rains in Florida I have no doubt it's saved my life. I wasn't doing anything crazy, just going up the on-ramp at a normal pace and all of the sudden both rear tires lost grip and TCM kicked in. Without it I would have spun into the grass or over the side I'm sure. Our roads are VERY oily and slick when it rains here.

But really, if it bothers you, turn off the TCM, it's a button on your dash. As far as tuning goes, I can't wait. If Arrington can do better than B&G I'll be very happy as B&G seems a bit to hit or miss to me lately.

lol well ya but other things play a factor as well for the guys with an LSD. I'd imagine it'd be harder for someone who has the 3.25's versus the 3.92's. A guy I know in town has a Sage Brush 4th Gen with the 3.92 LSD and can chirp them at a stop light... No smoke or hard tire marks, but it does squeal... :4-dontknow:

Yeah it's confusing. Like my R/T with the factory tires could spin/chirp(depended on the intersection) them pretty easy but when I put on nitto 420s it couldn't do it anymore(except for one weird day when the traction control light kept flashing until it shifted into third).

But this truck with 3.55 LSD won't even chirp them from a stop at all except for like once or twice in the whole 7 months I've had it unless I floor it while turning or I'm on a super slick road. Or one time at the drag strip it went sideways on me at the tree when I went to launch. But ever since I filled it up thursday(93 like always) it will get up and go at half throttle whereas before it was slow until it hit around 3,000 rpm and then it felt like a rocket ship and I even chirped them tonight 2 or 3 times from a stop when I floored it. Then again today it was in the 70-80s instead of 90-100s so that explains some of it but even friday it had a lot more pep and it was in the 90-100s

Sounds like Torque Management and Traction Control is worse on your 12 than it is on my 11 for some reason. But if you really wanted to lay rubber down, than like I've said before, just turn off the Traction Control and you'll do just that every time. A part of the Traction Control system ties into Torque Management. It cuts your power to keep things "safe". Thank idiot drivers who want to blame their mistakes on the manufacturer and won... It sucks, it's over kill yes, but if your at a stop light and wanting to blast off in a blaze of rubber and smoke, push the squiggly button on your dash, brake stand your revs up to about 1500, truck will lurch a bit (for the love of god don't stall it), release the gas and floor it at the same time You WILL smoke your tires, not to the best of the trucks ability because TM will cut some power but it's better than nothing. Once a tuner is released than you won't even need to brake stand just floor it and steer that 6000 pound beast in the right direction... straight lol

It won't do shit even with TC off Unless I sit there and force it to do a burnout like at the drag strip(no area to drive around the water so have to drive through it and do a burnout) But I wanna try that brake stand now I'll post results soon! Lol. Thanks!

if you are hard up pull the abs fuse, not recommended but it disables the traction system ,it does for me, i can swing donuts till the tires pop and roast em from a dead stop without brake standing...i just put the fuse back when im done playing. iv done this maybe twice. iv heard of guys putting a switch inline for this same purpose as well.
