I have a 2011 1500 BigHorn with 20inch wheels. I have had the 2.5 ReadyLift leveling kit installed, now I want to add 35inch Nitto Trail Grapplers tires to the stock 20" wheels and they are saying that I should get new wheels with a zero offset.

As of now I have:
2.5 Ready Lift
Stock Wheels 20x9 +19 offset

I am told that I need:
New Wheels with 20x9 and 0 offset.

I have checked the sticky threads, but nothing on the 2011 is shown, can someone help me on this? They are telling me it will rub the frame and plastic, which the plastic I can deal with, the frame - not so much.

Any help would be awesome - I want a close fit and would like to go to 35 since 33 will be a size above what I have now.

Looking at the same thing and it's the width that is your enemy on the rubbing. It looks like it is usually around the upper control arms. I have been told without a suspension lift (not spacers) then a 285/60 20 is about as big as you want to go. That's just from talk. People with real world experience will definitely chime in here.

Yeah - that is what the guy that does the install is telling me, he says that people like him that do it for a living know and I would tend to trust him, but I have been 2.5 leveling kit on -09's and 35s with no issues. Would LOVE to hear from someone who did it and what they have to say or someone who knows better than I for a second opinion - thanks for the message.

I have 295/60/20 Nitto Terra Grapplers on stock 20's. They measure to a little over 34" and 12.36' wide I believe. I also have the Pro Comp 2.5 level kit. I do not have spacers and they only rub at full lock. The rub is the tire hitting the plastic fender well, not the metal parts. It is very minor and could be fixed but doesn't bother me. Hope this helps...

Tires with Leveling Kit

Thanks JF2004 . . .

That is what I have been hearing, that it only rubs plastic at full lock. I am looking at the same size tires - 295/60/20 but with the Trail Grappler vs. the Terra Grappler. The knobs on the side may add a bit to the rub at full lock.

At this point I would rather spend the $1500 for the tires, but another $1500 for wheels, I am not so into at this point.

And agreed, nothing outside of stock is necessary, driving it off the lot works, but the level makes it ride and look better but leaves the wheel wells a bit empty and the Grapplers look much more aggressive than stock and fill that empty space. Like I said, going up only one size tire from stock seemed a bit boring as well.

I am going to buy the tires and have the local shop install them on the stock 20s and I will let you know how it turns out.

I just put 305 60 r20 Toyo Ats on 20 x 9 zero offset wheels.
I have a 3 inch front kit installed. No issues whatsoever. these are 34.5 dia at 12.50 wide. Looks to me like you should be able to go at least this big with stock wheels and level kit.

New 295/65/20 Nitto Trail Grapplers

Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the good info, got the tires and they look exactly as I wanted them too. With 2.5 Leveling Kit and stock 20" wheels, they fill the space perfectly.

The tires do rub at full lock, like on U-Turns and reversing with locked wheels. I think it is just a matter of the offset on the stock wheels. I have been looking around for a zero offset vs. the -12 or -19 offset or whatever the stock wheels have. This "should" clear up the rubbing issues.

Here are the pics of the tires -

I have been looking into the wheels for the Viper/but replicas and some of these:

Anyone know what Comp Grey is? I am looking to do mineral grey if at all possible and may have them painted when I get them, but if I can get them that way - bonus.

I have a 2011 CC Big Horn with 35x12.50 Nitto trail grapplers on 20x9 XD addict rims. They rub only at full lock at slow speeds. I have ordered a 3 inch front spacer lift and 2 inch rear that gets installed tomorrow (1/8/12). I will post some pics and feedback on wheel fitment after the lift.

Checkout the stock tire size for F250's with 20's. I believe it was 265/75r20 or 275/65r20, these are a tall narrow tire. Be careful though, I've seen these mounted on some wider wheels and they looked a bit odd.

These are available from Nitto in the Terra Grappler tire.

Road Noise on Trail Grapplers

@rbu1 - the road noise is minimal really, I was expecting worse really - very happy with it.

@amschrad - when you say spacers what kind? I think for me the wheel needs to be pushed away from the vehicle a bit and will correct the rub. The stock wheel have a rather large offset toward the body.

Lift, spacers and such

@Bugaboo232 or anyone that can help

I wanted to see if I could get some more info for you on the stance you setup.

http://www.ramforumz.com/showthread.php?t=99278

You stated you had spacers 1/4 inch spacers - can you point me to what brand or product I should get for that one?

And you have a 1.25 body lift, is this on top of a leveling kit? I have a 2.5 leveling kit on mine.

And the Bilstein 2.8 up front, is that a suspension lift? Or just the shocks?

Overall - I am just looking to get rid of the rub with offset adjustments or something that I can afford and will look a bit better.

Let me know what you think and thanks for the info!
