Last weekend we got out to the track for a little test and tune.
I ran my truck as it is in my sig with the 35's and the diablo tune with 94 octane in the tank and my shifts bumped to 6100rpm.
My brother has a '14 silverado, 5.3 with a 4" lift, 20x10's and 305/55/20 trailgraps. No performance mods yet
I was somewhat nervous getting there that we would have a close race.
Anyways, I ran a 15.62 (corrected to 15.47) best and stayed pretty consistent at that through 8 passes. His best of 10 passes was 16.1.
Another friend has a '13 silverado with a 5.3, bone stock, who ran one 15.99, everything else was 16.1 or over.
I lost to two, one against a mid 2000's silverado, 6L and I think a mild cam on stock rubber. It was a very close race and I was reeling him in fast at the line. The second one was against my buddies '11 ecoboost running 34" bfg's, a "scorcher" tune, intake and some exhaust work.. he broke into the 14.9's and continued getting faster as the night went on. I was actually quite impressed.
Just thought I'd share. Will be going back when I get a hemifever tune and some stock sized rubber to burn off.
Also, another friend brought his freshly tuned powerstroke. Not sure the specifics of it but he ran a 13.2 first pass.. smoked the trans building boost and never left the line on the second pass! Poor guy.
