Doe's anyone know of any aftermarket headrests that don't lean forward so much? They bothered me before but now I have had neck surgery and driving this truck is not as fun as it was.

Allot of guys are putting them in a vice and bending the posts. I bought a set of Aftermarket lcd's off eBay and they sit up straight. What a world of difference.

Mine are going in the vice soon as well. I'm 6'2" and they are absolutely terrible... Whatever engineer designed these really needs to be forced to drive 1000 miles with them, and if he/she is too short, then sit in a booster seat so they get the full effect of having them push your head forward...

Anyone have any tips on bending them appropriately in a vise?

Place the "posts" from the headrest into a vice, clamp it down (maybe use a rag to avoid scratches) and then bend the headrest to the desired angle.

Should be pretty straight forward...

I flipped them 180* in the sockets while I was still in the dealership lot! I didn't past buckling in with them pushing my head forward before I got back out and pulled them out.

The salespersons face was classic when I asked her to do it to the passenger side so that I didn't have to deal with it later.

I'll probably go the vice route after I get the vice mounted to the workbench this spring.

I was going to use the back ones on the front seats

But then i just pulled the head rests out of the front seats & rotated them 180 degrees

I believe if you try to bend them, you will crack the chromed uprights

It's actually government safety regulation that the manufactures have to comply to. They are meant to prevent whiplash when you get in an accident not for comfort while driving
