I have been thinking about replacing the stock folding/heated/powered/textured black mirrors with the upscale SLT models with built in turn signals/puddle lamps and painted black. I know there is an extra connector attached to the mirrors with turn signals built in but what I dont know is if that extra connector on the truck making them plug and play. I seriously doubt it but it cant hurt to ask. Also, is this mod capable without a some sort of BCM flash?

Probably at least a harness to buy and run but maybe a BCM flash too. Last resort... is there a way to just run the light from a blinking hot wire so it blinks in unison with the headlight blinkers?

Hi Have you figured anything out yet? I'm in the same boat i installed the new trailer tow mirrors with puddle and signal. then brought it to the local dealer and paid 100.00 for them to tell me if the truck dosen't come with it you can not get them to work. Wasted 100.00 this is bs. If i can not find a dealer with a clu i will just wire them myself. Let me know thanks

I read on another forum, that unless the Dodge Ram came with the EVIC & the trailer brake controller, there is no way to make the signal & puddle lamps work
You can't just install those things & flash the PCM, because the needed software is not written into the workings of the PCM.
The only way to possibly make everything work, would be to run your own custom wiring

I ran into basically this same thing, i wanted to run my headlights all the time that the key was in the Run position, it seems that i would have to get a computer that was made for use in Canada, where the law reads that they shall have daytime running lights, i found a work around & now have head lights when the key is in the run position, I just covered my head light AMBIENT Light Sensor, The Ram computer now thinks that it is always night time
