I'm picking up my new 2012 Ram 2500HD crew cab 4x4 tomorrow. This truck has the 5.7L Hemi in it. I'm planning to do a few things to this truck. Question. Will running a cats-back dual exhaust have any negative effects on this truck?

after you get past the cats, any change should not affect anything.
Maybe the fuel economy if you really like the way it sounds.
But under normal driving it may actually improve.

Thanks. I plan on going with straight through Flowmasters or Magnaflows. It'll be a little louder.... I didn't know if these new gas motors were back pressure sensitive.

I was told by a sales manager (who places the actual orders) that the 1500s have it as option because of the back pressure being reduced with a lot of aftermarket stuff. Yet they don't offer it as an option for the 2500+ trucks. Kind of weird. As long as you're behind the CAT I don't think you can mess your warranty up and it should give you a little bump in fuel economy, unless as previously mentioned you like the sound TOO MUCH haha. When mine arrives from the factory the dealer will be putting a cat back on before I even pick her up.
