I commented in another thread that I wasn't impressed, after looking at a ton of pic's I'd kill for that new EVIC and media center. Not to happy about the dial to shift the transmission, or the look of the new projectors.

I am guessing for the "lower" trims levels they will get the older shift lever?? Just from looking at pictures in the link posted above that ram had the old shifter..

Yeah could have waited, although, I have a feeling this is all top of the line stuff, kind of like in the Jeep Grand Cherokee with the air ride suspension, etc. On the other hand, I think with all these upgrades that they probably won't be 'giving away' these new 2013s right away like they did with the much less updated 2012 models. I don't know about spending 40k on a half ton anyways. I'd go for a 3/4 ton rather than have all these fancy schmancy upgrades

Thirty pounds lighter in the transmission. I don't know...would that have any effect on the robustness of the tranny for actual truck abuse? I like all the other features and the looks as presented there.

Not sure the Hemis are getting the new 8 speed. And that's the only thing I really see that would be nice. Who cares how much power the base v6 makes?

The 4.7 and 5.7 will be getting the 8 speed as an option but doesnt sound like it will be available until real late in the year or begining of 2013. They have a new cooling system for the trannys as well which should hopefully keep them cool and also help them get up to opperating temp faster.

Well I'd like to test drive one once available. It could either be great or terrible. Staying in the powerband better is nice but not if it is hunting for gears in town all the time. Thanks for the info by the way.

No problem. I hear ya on the hunting for gears. The company I work for has chevy trucks for fleet vehicles and it doesnt matter if you are going up small hills or big hills its constantly dowshifting and upshifting. It's actually annoying!

Ok why is the 4.7 8 Cyl still being offered? If the big six is just over 300 and the '13 5.7 a nickel short of 400 what is the use of another v8 that likely gets worse mileage than the six or maye even the Hemi,

the 4.7 is being deleted this year. the pentastar engine seems to be a good engine. will most likely see a turbo version in our trucks when they do a complete refresh.
Wife's '12 Grand Cherokee has the new V6, little low on torque IMO for a heavy pickup but the 8 speed should help that out. Otherwise a pretty solid V6 that gets great fuel mileage.
