Is anyone else having/had problems with the climate control on their 2013 Ram 1500? Here's what's happening with mine:

Recirculate comes on when the truck is started but no indicator light. I have to press the button (turning it on and then indicator light comes on) and then press the button again to turn it off.

At random, recirculate mode activates on it's own. No indicator light. Then I have to press the button on and then off again to turn it off. :4-dontknow:

A/C randomly turns on by itself. Again, no indicator light and I have to go through the double button press to shut it off.

Now I am frustrated enough that this is forcing me to make an appointment with the dealer to get it checked and fixed. :nunu:

Anyone else experience this issue? Did the dealer fix? What did they do to fix it?

How do you know that recirc is on if the light isn't on?

the recirc enables based on cabin temp. if you cool it down and turn on fresh air, it will go back to recirc if it gets warm enough in the cabin. AC will activate with AC off and defrost on. My truck acts just like yours and from what I have read, its normal....

+1

If its on auto it will turn on the AC and recirc when it needs it and the lights wont come on.

Push the recirc button then it goes to manual mode and the light comes on, press it again and it turns it off.

If its doing that in manual mode then something is wrong.

I know that with mine, If my dial is all the way to the cold position the AC will come on without pushing it and I have to double push it to get it off.
If I turn the dial in the cold position but don't turn it all the way it does not come on unless I press it.

I have been suspicious that my AC is coming on when I have not turned it on. It has really not been hot enough yet this year to need AC, and a couple times the air coming through the vents seems too cold to be outside air. I do not have auto climate on mine.

I have also noticed that the front defroster button requires two pushes to activate (hard button, not 8.4 screen). That tells me there are some software bugs in the controller. I figure I will ask the dealer about a software update, but have not run into anything significant enough in 11 months to justify a trip to the dealer.

Two weeks ago the dealer replaced the A/C controller. Still not fixed. They said they wanted to look at another 2013 to see if they could replicate the problem on another truck. They have not called back. I will call them on Tuesday and then call corporate. It's a very irritating problem I want fixed. More to follow.

I do not have auto AC .... but me as well I have been suspicious that my AC was running when the AC light was not on. It happened to me a couple of times that pretty cold air was coming out of the vents ... and it seemed colder than outside temp.

Then, when activating AC and then deactivating it again ... warmer air was coming out of the vents.

However, I havn't figured out yet under what circumstances it does that ... :-(
