My truck came with the 7/4 pin connector, but did not have the integrated brake controller. Dealer says it's not available yet, so he put in a service order for one so I can get it when available.

Now I need a controller to use until the factory controller is available. Called my camper dealer and they won't touch the truck, said they cannot install a controller on it. Went to a truck accessory place here in town, who at first said 'sure, no problem', but after a hour or so of testing and calling their tech support, came back saying they could not do it either.

The truck accessory place said they could not install it because the stop signal is always hot and does not change when the brake is pressed. I tested this myself with a meter and verified the problem. As soon as the ignition is on, the stop light signal goes high and stays high.

I did go back to the dealer and ask him to install an aftermarket... he is researching that option and supposed to get back to me.

Has anyone else seen this or know of a work around?

Thanks much.

Same issue here. I jumped from a diesel to this gasser and need a brake controller. My dealer called the factory and they told me that no individual sale of parts until March. All parts are going to new builds. I tow in 2 weeks (5500lbs) and would like trailer brakes.....Have you found the plug under the dash???

Yes, I found a pair of connectors taped up by the center console. It would be directly in front of my right knee. I am sure the 4 way connector is it because I traced the brake controller signal to the connector in the bumper. The Hot wire, Ground and Brake signal to the rear are correct, however what should be the brake signal goes hot when you start the truck and stays hot. I temporarily connected an aftermarket controller to the three correct wires and made a connector to go on my brake switch to get the brake signal. Seems to work, but I still have the factory setup on order this is strictly a make do setup. It looks like factory will be much, much better.
