Hey guys,

Just purchased a 2014 dodge ram 1500, had the truck just over a week, decided to also get the 2014 toyota tundra platinum and it crossed my mind might be fun to do a tug of war test between the two.

As an Australian I prefer the toyota as that is what I grew up with however the dodge is far more comfortable with the air ride suspension, I prefer the dodge overall.

First video is in 2WD:

Second video is in L4:

Oh boyyyy, here we go again, yet here we have video`s of haters pickin on dodge`s as usual. You put identicle brand of tires on both trucks, same gear ratio, that dodge will yank that toyota all over the place... especially with the hemi and the 8 speed. I find it annoying watching video`s of people comparing brands, and the truck that lose`s is always the dodge. Why is that...???... they stack the deck to make anything BUT a dodge, to look better. (like over inflated tires to lose traction really quick, thats a famous trick) Haters will always hate... and they`ll keep hating until they get beat, then they make fixed/fake movies to bring down the dodge brand. Bring your chubbie`s, your turd`s, and your boyota`s up against my hemi and its 8-speed, i`ll make anyone a believer in dodge. I work with some guys that were HARD CORE chubby and turd owners for 40years, once they drove my hemi truck, they now own them their selves. And like me, they`ve gone out and bought brand new 2014`s this year again as well. Never once did i ever say i told you so to these guys either, because i dont have to... the ram brand speaks for itself.

yea, it comes down to traction, both trucks are pretty close powerwise. Either way don't think I'd ever do that to my new truck.
No joke. Hell not even mine that's been broken in a couple years. Last damn thing I want is a video of my truck circulating the web with the rear axle being snapped clean off.

Screw the videos, I find it more interesting that this guy couldn't make up his mind which one he wanted so he bought both!!!

I seriously doubt he went out and bought both of these trucks. Regardless, what difference does that video really make? Is someone really going to change their mind one way or the other because of this...lol

The fact that somebody shows up new to a forum and BAM…lays down (yet another) meaningless "tug" video for their very first post says a lot about who/what a person really is.

I agree. Screw the videos (they wouldn't open anyway). I at least had to comment on how the backstory (as plausible as it is) makes the kid sound so simple-minded and naive. And that he probably doesn't even realize it.

There are some relevant ways to objectively test a trucks performance and capability, but tug o war is nothing but a function of weight and traction.

Go hook up to a old non Turbo 7.3 F250. They are dogs, but will drag any 1/2 ton gas burner all day. Heavy A$$ old Truck..

Dude get out of here with this Tundra crap! I owned one and now I own both a ram and a tacoma, they aren't bad trucks but certainly not better then a Ram. My tundras drive shaft went off balance because a small rock hit it. That's pathetic, weak parts if you ask me! My 14' ram sport 4x4 cc will tow that tundra limited cross country guaranteed.

Cool video of testing tire grip bud. Goodyears versus Michelin maybe? Toyotas are no slouch but they're still stinking fugly and too damn expensive all around. Ram is still the winner in all aspects; Out the door price when identically equipped to Fundras Platinum, impressive interior, best looking, and best fuel economy. This video only demonstrated poor tire grip, nothing more. Not to mention a void in both warranties.

Cool story. Not picking on dodge, I prefer the dodge to be honest, think it looks better and is far more comfortable. Also is more user friendly in my opinion.

Calm down little man, was a fun test as I said I actually prefer dodge, the fact you seem to take it personally for some reason is quite hilarious, check out the rest of my videos you might enjoy them. :smiley_thumbs_up:

Yeah thought maybe tire grip but what about when they were in L4? Was done for fun regardless not trying to prove/disprove anything.
