Hello everyone, thank you to whomever can help me out.
I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 1500 with 8 speed transmission, has 103,000 miles on it stock engine, stock transmission and has dial shift knob. I am having a serious issue with getting the truck into reverse. It doesn't matter if it's cold or hot or no time period of how long it has been sitting, I'll throw it into reverse and the red R starts flashing and then the dash says turn back to park and then desired gear. If you have to do this 3 times the engine light comes on. It is throwing a P1DA8 transmission code. I did the full procedure on checking fluid level. Procedure meaning there is no dipstick and you have to follow guidelines to check it. So the only fix I have is restart the truck everytime and then it will go right into reverse with no issues .
Pleas help
On a side note my truck does do the whole slip thing only in the morning 1 to 2, 2 to 3 it does it once and gone the rest of the day, I have seen other posts of people having this same issue, dont know if it is related.
