Guys...I have a 6” lift...37” tires

I currently have 3.92 gears.....I’m told upper 4’s is a better gear for the new setup I have

Now....a service guy told me about the front diff ....that it’s not possible to swap out the front gears because something is welded from factory?????

CONFIRM OR DEBUNK??????

I can’t imagine RAM would lock us out from Doing aftermarket upgrades

From what I understand you have to get the front end from an older truck in order to change the gearing in front.

Search around you’ll need front and rear diff carrier and parts from I think the 09-10 Ram?
I run 37’s with 3.92’s and is not bad at all. Could be better if I had the 8 speed trans but oh well.

3.92 gears with 37's works out to running about a 3.50 gear with stock size tires. So still doing better than stock trucks with 3.21's, assuming you have an 8 speed. Even if you have a 6 speed that still puts you close to the 3.55's that are standard for those trucks.

Biggest thing is to get a tuner to adjust for tire size to get shift points back to their ideal spot.
