My wife was driving or RAM and when she turned on the car the rear dome light would not turn off. The doors were all closed and tail gate, the interior light wheel was turned all the way down in the off position. When she got home I made sure all the doors were shut and the wheel was off. I turned the truck off and shut the door and the light stayed on for about 15 min.

What is the problem and how can I fix it?. I keep hearing that I need to disconnect the battery or replace the fixture. But what is the problem and why does it do this?

Thanks,

FUTURE

Does that rear light have an individual on-auto switch on it? If so it could be set to on...
Either this or a problem with one of the switches that detects whether a door is closed or open. Since you mentioned no other symptoms of the latter I suspect the former is more likely

I figured out the problem. The light is a push on/off light and the tiny button inside was stuck from when my kids were playing with the light it was stuck to the side. I wiggled it and it shut-off. Thank you all for your input its much appreciated!

Thank you for this forum!!!! I didn't know the rear seat lite was push on or off until reading this thread. I just went out and checked. The old owners manuals used to tell you EVERY DETAIL on the truck. These news ones don't tell you squat!!!

Are you sure you are looking at the real owners manual?
The 360 page book that comes standard with the truck is an abridged 'users guide'.
The 700 page monstrosity is the real owners manual and this one has many more details (though not all). Unfortunately you have to call FCA to get it. It is free for the original purchaser. I requested mine and got it plus all the warranty stuff and uconnect supplement.
With as complex and costly as these new vehicles are, it sucks it does not come with a useful book. FCA is not the only one doing this either...

Independence Day, what number for FCA did you call, or is this information in the supplied owners manual that came with the truck? Thanks, Bob F

You can download the full manual from the RAM website, see page 139....

Even the Uconnect manual seems to have to left parts out

Today i went through both manuals to see if it showed in detail about Personal Settings or USER Settings

The only thing that i found was about the FOB unlocking 1 door or all four

One of our members wanted to shut off the Drivers Front Door Chime, when the door was Open & the FOB was i the ACC position
They didn't want to have to turn the FOB to the On position & have other things operating besides the radio, like the Climate Control Fan, or anything else that draws power

So I had this happen also. Roller switch was fine and all door switches are working properly. I found the problem was a short was in the passenger press light. The push switch was separated and somehow caused there to be constant power. I took down the panel, carefully glued the switch together and it was fixed. I'm not saying this is the fix for everyone but for the people that did everything mentioned and nothing is working, try taking down the lights and making sure everything is together, as it should be.
