I've tried searching for a concrete answer and can't locate one.

I bought my 2019 Rebel in July. Since I've owned it I've had a couple of issues. I'm not sure the issues are specific to the Rebel and could be for all Ram models.

1. The back up camera is hit and miss. When it's on it's great. When it doesn't work I get the solid blue screen. No rhyme or reason that I can find that could cause the issue? I've checked the connections in the tailgate and below and all seem very snug and tight.

2. The plastic trim just above the drivers headlight was broken.

3. The seat comes undone. Bottom front of the drivers seat does not stay secured and flaps down.

I've taken to the dealer and was told there was an update for the uconnect system sent to the radio and someone hit "no" when it was sent to the radio (dealer? salesman?, other interested buyer on test drive?). The dealer said there is no manual update and are waiting a response from the manufacturer. meantime the issue continues.

The plastic trim I was told would arrive in 4-5 days. Now I'm told since the truck was just released there are no "spare" parts yet? It's been over two weeks and it's getting frustrating. I get it, it's a new body style etc. but from my research the camera issue has been around for a long time and there should be a fix for it.

Other then these issues, I love the truck. 1st Ram I have owned. In fact I traded in a GMC Sierra Denali for the Rebel and I absolutely love the Rebel!

Any update sent out over the air should be available for the dealer to force update. All of these issues should be fixed under warranty, so if that dealer won't do it find one who will

Hello Dj91,

Has there been a case created on the customer care side of the business? Send me your VIN within a direct message if not. I definitely want to get this documented within our system and help however I can.

As usual, the ball was dropped at the dealer. ThunderHorse is correct! The update CAN BE forced at the dealer level. My radio screen did the same thing, after several trips to the dealer (of course), i called FCA, after 5 trips, (because no other dealer closer to me wanted to help me because i didn't buy the truck from them. So 70 miles each trip to the dealer where i bought the truck) it FINALLY got fixed.

I have yet to see a Rebel on the lot or online at any dealer close by. I'm starting to see the Tradesman's; initially it was Laramie and then Big Horns.
Sorry to hear of your troubles, but they will hopefully be resolved soon so you can really enjoy the truck.

Sure hate to have to move just to get better vehicle service somewhere else.
FCA really needs to step up on these lame dealers... its just ridiculous how bad they are.

Does the air suspension work any faster on the '19, than on the '16? Mine takes 30 seconds to move 4 inches. How about settings to automatically lower to Entry/Exit height below a certain speed? Mine automatically raises above 17 MPH, but I can't set it to automatically lower.

I got the plastic trim and the seat issue taken care of. They keep saying they are waiting on an answer from the manufacturer for the blue screen of death? Since I have an open ticket at the dealer for the issue wouldn't it show up if I take it to another dealer?

I don't know if the raising and lowering of the air suspension is faster in the 2019's. I can time it. The only time it seems slow is going from Normal to Entry/Exit? If I have it set to Normal then I go over 65 it automatically goes into Aero mode. When I get back under 65 it will go back up to Normal. I'm sure you know this but this is the 1st Ram I've owned and 1st air suspension I've had so it's all new to me.

Ramcares,

I sent my vin to you did you ever get it?
No we didn't get it, Dj91. Can you try to send it again? If it's easier to talk about this over the phone, give us a call at 866-726-4636.

Check the tailgate connection by actually undoing it and re clipping it. I recently had an similar issue, and the connector needed re-clipping to fix it.

With the latest Uconnect update so far it has fixed it. Have had no issues since installing the update.

Anyone have issues turning while in 4HI? I just got my 2019 Rebel and I have put it in 4HI just testing this out and driving in a straight line it’s great, but when I turn into like a parking spot the vehicle almost completely stops. Any ideas onto why? I have tried turning in 4HI on multiple instances and always feels/acts like it wants to stop.

Because you are destroying your driveline. With part time 4wd systems t is bad for the truck to drive in 4wd on high traction surfaces like dry pavement.
