Yes; the staff has discussed getting the layout of the GD section arranged to be more consistent. Below is what I have proposed:

LD Ram-Ram 1500 forum
> Gen 1 Dodge Ram
> Gen 2 Dodge Ram
> Gen 3 Dodge Ram
> Gen 4 Dodge Ram

> > 2009 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2010 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2011 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2012 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2013 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2014 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2015 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2016 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2017 Dodge Ram Forum
> > 2018 Dodge Ram Forum

> Gen 5 Dodge Ram
> > 2019 Dodge Ram Forum
> Dodge Ram 4x4 Offroad discussion
> Dodge Ram Special Edition Models

> > Dodge Power Wagon
> > Dodge Ram R/T
> > Dodge Ram Daytona
> > Dodge Ram Vans
> > Dodge Ram SRT-10
> > Dodge Ram SST-Indy
> > Dodge Ram Rumble Bee
> > Dodge Ram Rebel

> Dodge Ram Polls

Allegedly this is being worked on; I'm just a mod and not an admin so I don't have to power to actually change anything other than moving threads. I'm not moving subforums thread by thread-ain't happenin'

Why not just Generation forums. Is there enough difference between model years to need a forum for each year?

Well we already have them, so then do we want to consolidate all of the MY subforums we already have? Or maybe one for before and after the mid cycle refresh

Your second option sounds good. I think we already have too many divisions so collapsing them down makes sense.
